John W. Hahn, Atlantic Mutual executive vice president, was elected chairman of the Alliance for Productive Technology, Inc. (APT). Hahn has been an active proponent of ACORD Standards and has encouraged agents, carriers and vendors to make use of them. Prominent in industry activities, Hahn has been a member of the ACORD Standards Committee, has served several terms as an IVANS director and member of its Executive Committee, and has acted as chairman of Agena Corporation. Presently, he is a director of AMS Services, Inc., and Crestar Bank, Roanoke, Virginia.
Located in New Providence, New Jersey, APT is a software vendor that was formed in 1992 as an alliance of independent agents, insurers and agency system vendors that are determined to achieve widespread acceptance of single entry, multiple company interface (SEMCI) through the use of ACORD Standards for forms and electronic commerce.
The Agency Advisory Board of Strategic Insurance Software, Inc. (S.I.S.) announced the formation of the National Association of S.I.S. Partner Agents (N.A.S.P.A.), the national user group for SEMCIPartner agents. Michele Liskai, a partner in the Blair Associates Agency, is president of N.A.S.P.A., Inc.

ACORD President and CEO Gregory A. Maciag presented the EDI Achievement Awards during the recent ACORD Technology Conference '99 in Orlando, Florida.
CNA Personal Insurance received awards as Upload Company of the Year for Total Implementations and Percent of Growth.
Applied Systems, Inc., won both the Upload and Download Vendor of the Year Awards for Total Implementations for the fifth consecutive year.
APT received the Upload Vendor of the Year for Percent of Growth Award for its SEMCI Access Module.
Doris, Inc., won the Download Vendor of the Year Award for Percent of Growth for the third consecutive year.
Safeco Insurance Company received the Download Company of the Year Award for Total Implementations.
Two individuals were recognized for their contributions to the ACORD Standards process. John C. Stiegler, AAI, division president, national distribution division, Safeco Insurance Companies, was honored for 20 years of service to ACORD.
Ronald A. James, senior vice president and CIO of Zurich Canada, was also recognized for his 20 years of leadership and support. James is immediate past chairman of the ACORD Board of Directors.
ACORD has introduced the ACORD OnBoard Partners Program that will assure insurance organizations of the expertise of their development partners to provide ACORD Standards-based products and Standards implementation assistance.
Early qualifiers for the program include Doris, Inc.; Fujitsu, Ltd.; NC.Focus; Ontos, Inc.; Sapient Corporation; and Symmetry Technology Labs, Inc.
A designated ACORD OnBoard Select Partner is one that has fully integrated ACORD AL3 and/or ObjX Standards into its products or services. An ACORD OnBoard Select Partner also can achieve the designation of ACORD Certified Entity (ACE) which signifies an advanced capacity for developing products that embody the ACORD ObjX Standard.
