RPLU PROGRAM CONTINUES ITS
STRONG GROWTH

The RPLU Program continues to show strong growth, with 120 new designees this year, bringing the total number to well over 400 people holding the RPLU designation. The RPLU Program consists of five parts, covering all aspects of professional liability insurance. They are:

Part I - General & Excess Liability Insurance

Part II - Professional Liability: General

Part III- Professional Liability: Non-Medical

Part IV - Professional Liability: Medical

Part V - Directors and Officers/Fiduciary Liability

Last year, PLUS added its own Part I, opening the door to more than 60 candidates who had passed parts II through V. Until last year, Part I could be satisfied by those individuals who had a CPCU designation or had passed CPCU Part 4; an AU; ARM; CIC; BS in Insurance or a Master's in Insurance, as well as other appropriate criteria. Candidates still can satisfy Part I by meeting these criteria or by taking the new PLUS I exam. Tests for the various parts are administered twice a year.

The first RPLU designations were awarded in 1994. There were 29 designees. They will be honored at this year's conference in a special ceremony. The original 29 are:
