On the back of our success we have developed strong relationships with a host of U.S. carriers, Lloyd’s underwriters, and international reinsurers. We are continually in discussion with them about their appetites, where they wish to write more, and the changes that market cycles will bring. This market intelligence allows us and our clients to react swiftly to new opportunities and challenges alike.

Over time we have developed a good understanding of the dynamics required to make programs work successfully. We pay considerable attention to the coverage that needs to be offered, the business plans, the underwriting process, and the data captured. Using industry databases we have built in many lines, we are able to negotiate start-up programs in instances where complete data is not available from our clients.

Before going to markets on a new or renewal program, we prepare a full proposal that typically includes a full actuarial report. With a solid understanding of the lines of business, the expected premium revenues, loss costs, complete expenses and the margins required by insurers, we are well equipped to negotiate the best terms on a client’s behalf.

We can also provide a variety of structures encompassing traditional programs and alternative program structures. For those very profitable books with a solid history of profit and where the program manager wishes to retain a considerable proportion of the underwriting profit, we have developed a number of alternative structures to facilitate that through profit-sharing mechanisms.
