iiX NETWORK INTEGRATED WITH APT
"...over 2,300 iiX-capable APT Stand Alone Modules (SAMs)
are now being distributed to agencies."
What's good about working with the Alliance for Productive Technology (APT) is that we share the same goal--SEMCI. At Insurance Information Exchange (iiX), we are using the latest in Internet, intranet, and extranet technology, in combination with APT software, to bring streamlined office processes, reduced operating costs and SEMCI to the independent agency system.
iiX and APT are equipping the industry for SEMCI
iiX and APT believe that an essential first step in realizing their mutual goal is to equip all industry participants with the necessary SEMCI facilities. Toward this end, over 2,300 iiX-capable APT Stand Alone Modules (SAMs) are now being distributed to agencies. These agencies have access to the iiX InterLink e-mail facilities providing upload and download transaction transport through its state-of-the-art network. Agencies that have these facilities will immediately be able to conduct affordable, non-proprietary electronic commerce, with all similarly equipped industry participants using an Internet protocol. Plus, iiX's long-standing, proven relationships with organizations such as the IIAA and the American Society of CLU & ChFC will greatly facilitate industry acceptance of iiX's SEMCI products.
iiX and APT put technology to work for the industry
For agents and companies who upload/download utilizing the SAM as shown in the illustration below, iiX adds even greater functionality by providing data translation of AL3 transactions. Now, while the fields are being sent, iiX is able to format the transaction to conform to carrier needs for upload and agency needs for download. This also provides a special benefit to insurers, in that they can use iiX to translate their download transactions into the various agency management system formats.
Again, streamlining occurs with the single entry of information. This reduction in time and effort is evident in more than just data entry. SEMCI becomes a re-engineering of the workflow. No more transferring information to paper to rekey into a different system. Agents and those they service benefit because the process becomes less prone to error and less costly.
iiX and APT are dedicated to SEMCI
SEMCI is a key to the future success of the independent agency system, and companies such as iiX and APT are dedicated to ensuring this success. The relationship we have enjoyed with APT is all about the development of those applications that will allow both agents and companies do what they do best--sell and service the insurance needs of their customers.*
